Industrial finishes and reclaimed timber for a vibrant South London bike shop

Seabass Cycles’ new Peckham hub reimagines the traditional bike shop, blending retail, repair, and community space in one vibrant environment. The design pays homage to cycling culture with a mix of exposed materials and industrial finishes. Warm herringbone parquet flooring contrasts with raw steel and timber details, creating a dynamic backdrop for displaying bicycles and components. High ceilings and large windows flood the space with natural light, fostering an inviting atmosphere that encourages browsing and interaction.

Anchored by a central bar-style counter made from reclaimed timber, the open-plan layout features a café and workshop area where customers can experience the craft of bicycle repair firsthand. Custom lighting and eclectic details infuse the space with character, making it more than just a shop—it’s a meeting point for South London’s cycling community. The project extends Seabass Cycles’ Camberwell legacy into Peckham’s Rye Lane, offering an expanded range of services in a space that balances style, function, and community spirit.
